Schenectady County COVID-19 Update: Potential Exposure at Tops American Grill

Schenectady County Public Health Services (SCPHS) has confirmed an employee, who later tested positive for COVID-19, worked at Tops American Grill in Rotterdam from 8am to 1pm on January 9 and 10, and from 8am to 12pm on January 11, 2021. SCPHS is working to  identify and quarantine close contacts of the individual. Although SCPHS believes there is a low risk of exposure, members of the public who dined at Tops during those times should monitor themselves for symptoms of COVID-19 for 14 days from that date and consider getting tested.

The Schenectady County Human Rights Commission (SCHRC) will host its annual Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. observance virtually on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at 2pm. This event is free, open to the public, and will stream live through the County’s youtube channel, www.youtube.com/SchenectadyCounty.

Schenectady County is currently distributing the vaccine to qualified individuals in Phase 1A. Due to limited vaccine supplies we are unable to schedule for Phase 1B at the time.

Corrections

The Schenectady County Department of Corrections is a division of the Office of the Schenectady County Sheriff. 

Currently due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, all visitation at the county correctional facility has been suspended until further notice.

Bail Procedures

To bail an inmate out of jail, you have a variety of options. Corrections division now takes cash, certified bank checks, and credit cards. You can make a payment in person, or electronically.
