Schenectady County and the Schenectady County Historical Society are proud to once again present Schenectady County’s Fall Foliage Festival on Sunday, October 13, 2019 from 11:00am until 4:00pm at the Mabee Farm Historic Site in Rotterdam Junction, NY.         

Schenectady County Legislature Sets Dates for 2020 Budget Presentation and Review

The Schenectady County Legislature has set the schedule for its review of the County Manager’s 2020 County Budget proposal.

A special meeting of the Legislature will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 7:00pm in the Legislature Chambers in the County Office Building to consider a resolution setting the date and time for a public hearing regarding the Schenectady County 20209 Program Budget and the 2020-2025 Capital Improvement Program.

The Schenectady County Legislature was joined today by the Schenectady County Library Board of Trustees and members of the Johnson Family to officially dedicate the Honorable Karen B. Johnson Schenectady County Public Library.  The former Central Branch is named for County Legislator Karen B. Johnson who passed away earlier this year.

Schenectady County is proud to announce the First Annual Funk n’ Jazz Music Festival will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 1pm until 8pm in the new Gateway Plaza Park located on the corner of State Street and Washington Avenue in Schenectady. 

City of Schenectady Wins 2019 Schenectady County Best Tasting Drinking Water Competition

Best Tasting Drinking Water Competition

Congratulations to the City of Schenectady for winning back their title of Best Tasting Drinking Water in Schenectady County for 2019.  The runner-up was the Town of Rotterdam.  The City last won the title in 2015 when they also won the regional title.   The City will now go on to the regional competition in Albany and if successful, the State finals held at the New York State Fair in Syracuse.
