Schenectady County Urges Residents to Sign up for the County RapidNotify Alert System

Schenectady County officials are urging County residents, especially those living in flood prone areas, to register for the County’s RapidNotify alert system.  Due to ice conditions along the Mohawk River, potential flooding could occur due to ice jams and possible precipitation.  River levels are currently being monitored by local first responders and the Schenectady County Office of Emergency Management, and alerts will be sent if any emergency situation arises.

RapidNotify is an automated electronic system that is used by the County to send out text and/or phone call alerts to residents in the event of an emergency situation.  Should an emergency occur, such as an evacuation order due to river flooding or boil water orders, this is the fastest way for residents to receive alerts, information, and updates.

Residents with cell phone and/or unlisted landline numbers are not automatically included in the system and would need to register those numbers to receive RapidNotify alerts.
