POD Preparedness Drill
Schenectady County Public Health Services will be conducting a Point of Dispensing (POD) preparedness drill on Tuesday April 3, 2018 at Schenectady High School from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. This drill will be a test of Public Health dispensing plans in the case of a real public health emergency. We are seeking volunteers to go through the POD as mock “patients” and invite you to participate!
Patient participation typically takes from 10-20 minutes.
To indicate your interest, please visit and fill out the POD Preperation Drill Registration Form through New York State Department of Health. You will be able to chose the appointment time that you would like to participate and be asked to provide basic demographic information as well as health information to determine which MOCK medication you should receive.
The goal of the preparedness drill is to be able respond to a biological, chemical or radiological public health emergency, with this drill specifically testing our medical dispensing plans in the case of a real public health emergency.
The preparedness drill is a partnership of Schenectady County Public Health Services, Schenectady County Office of Emergency Management, Schenectady Police and Fire Departments, Schenectady City School District, Ellis Hospital, Schenectady ARC, Sunnyview Hospital, Capital Care Medical Group, Schenectady County Auxiliary Police, Schenectady County Medical Reserve Corps, Schenectady City Fire Hazmat, and Visiting Nurse Service of Northeastern New York.
