Glendale Nursing Home Suspends Visitation

Glendale Nursing Home

Effective immediately, Schenectady County’s Glendale Nursing Home is suspending visitation until further notice. Other nursing homes in the area have implemented similar measures.

Glendale implemented this change after reviewing the latest coronavirus guidelines released by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), which is part of the federal Department of Health and Human Services, and in consultation with Schenectady County Public Health Services. The updated guidelines are specific to counties with a confirmed case or adjacent to a county with a confirmed case. Currently there are 2 known cases in Saratoga County.

“Out of an abundance of caution, we have suspended visitations at our Glendale Nursing Home until further notice,” said Tony Jasenski, Chair of the Schenectady County Legislature. “After reviewing the latest guidelines from CMS with our public health team, we have decided this is the best course of action in order to best protect Glendale residents and staff from the inevitable spread of this virus.”
