Schenectady County Legislature Holds Bi-Annual Organizational Meeting. Newly Re-Elected Members and Leadership Sworn-In

The Schenectady County Legislature tonight held its Bi-Annual Organizational Meeting and swearing-in ceremony in the Schenectady County Legislature Chamber.

Newly re-elected members of the legislature were sworn-in and members re-elected Anthony Jasenski as Chairman and Karen Johnson as Vice-Chair.  Chair Jasenski also re-appointed Philip Fields as his Deputy Chair and the Majority and Minority Conferences re-elected Gary Hughes as Majority Leader and James Buhrmaster as Minority Leader.  Each leadership position is a two year term.

“I am proud to say that Schenectady County is open for business,” stated Chair Jasenski during remarks after his re-election as Chairman.  “While our future looks brighter than is has in a very long time, there remains more work that can be done.  We will continue our efforts to bring investment and jobs into this community.  We will continue to make improvements in our neighborhoods.  We will continue to seek out new and innovative ways to deliver services as we work with our colleagues in local government to find even greater efficiencies.  Let us continue to work together and build a great future for our families, friends, neighbors, and all who do business and call Schenectady County home.”
