H1N1 Vaccine Now Available to All Schenectady County Residents The 2009 H1N1 influenza vaccine is now available to all New Yorkers aged 6 months and older who want to be vaccinated, as the vaccine supply permits. Schenectady County Public Health Services will continue to hold H1N1 vaccination clinics.
Appointments are available for clinics on December 30th and 31st and can be made by calling 631-0840.
Appointments for the January 8th and January 18th clinics can be made by calling 631-0840 or by visiting www.schenectadycounty.com and making an appointment on-line.
These clinics are by appointment only for Schenectady County residents who are 6 months of age or older. Phones are open weekdays 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
If you child has been immunized already and is under 10 years of age, they need a booster vaccination at least 28 days from their first H1N1 immunization. Please contact your doctor to schedule, visit www.schenectadycounty.com or call 631-0840 for more information.
Please note the Schenectady County Public Health Services will be closed on December 24th and 25th as well as on January 1, 2010.
I want to thank the Schenectady medical community for its strong support of the H1N1 immunization efforts. More than 25,000 doses have been given by our many clinics and health care facilities. This is an impressive record in light of poor vaccine supply and shipment.
I encourage patients who have not been immunized to ask for the vaccine and for doctors to keep offering it. We may well see more flu in February and March.
